International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated globally on Wednesday 8 March to bring attention to the issues facing women, and to celebrate their achievements. It's a day to recognise how far we’ve progressed, and also how far we have left to go.
This year's theme is #EmbraceEquity. Equity and equality are inherently different concepts, and the campaign theme seeks to forge a worldwide conversation about why "equal opportunities are no longer enough" - and can in fact be exclusionary, rather than inclusive.
CIM is celebrating IWD with a special 'In Conversation' series, in which we spotlight some of the leading women paving the way in the property industry. We sat down with CBRE's Amanda Steele, Knight Frank's Alison O'Neill, Centuria's Annie Scott, and SRL's Sarah Blackmore.
All wonderfully accomplished and driven women, their insights have enlightened and inspired. From commentary on creating clearer pathways for younger women to improving gender ratios within senior leadership teams, the learnings were diverse and insightful.
